Michael Starr

Austin-based, Michael Starr, is a 30+ year veteran of the music industry, and currently serves as Head of Promotion for NY-based indie powerhouse, Glassnote Records, where he has spent the last 11 years. While there, Michael has helped mold the careers of Mumford & Sons, Phoenix, CHVRCHES, Childish Gambino, Jade Bird, and more.

He began his career managing a record store while in college, and worked his way up through distribution in the 1990s before starting his promotion career at Wind-up Records in 2001 where he helped break bands like Evanescence, Seether, Drowning Pool.

Michael has an extensive background in radio promotion, artist development, distribution, A&R, and he's mentored a number of up & coming artists and executives throughout his career.
