Kate Chamuris is a creative producer based in Los Angeles, CA. She began making narrative films after working in the advertising and theater industries in NYC. Her award-winning films have gone on to shortlist for the Live Action Short Oscar and screened at top festivals including SXSW & Sundance.

Her producing experience includes the short BLOCKS (dir. Bridget Moloney) that had its world premiere at Sundance 2020 and the creative team was the subject of a Southwest Airlines sponsored LA Times docu-series on their journey to Sundance. MILLER & SON short (dir. Asher Jelinsky) was on the Oscar Shortlist for Live Action Short ‘20, won the Gold Student Academy Award ‘19, won the student BAFTA live action short award ‘19. BALLOON short (dir. Jeremy Merrifield) won the Grand Prix at HollyShorts ‘19 and Best Drama Series at the College Television Awards. UNSPEAKABLE short (dir. Milena Govich) world premiered at SXSW ‘18. NUEVO RICO (dir. Kristian Mercado) won the Oscar Qualifying award for Best Animated Short at SXSW ‘21 & LALIFF ‘21. Currently playing festivals is the short THE BREAKTHROUGH (dir. Daniel Sinclair, SXSW ’23).

Kate has worked as a production VFX coordinator on Lucasfilm's THE MANDALORIAN S2 & S3, THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT S1, and ASHOKA S1. She is currently VFX coordinating on HBO's THE RIGHTEOUS GEMSTONES S3.

Through business of filmmaking mentorship and festival/distribution strategy consulting, Kate enjoys helping filmmakers get clear on their next steps towards having a sustainable career as an artist.
