Maytal Dahan
Maytal Dahan is the Director of Advanced Computing Interfaces at the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) at The University of Texas at Austin. With over 20 years of experience at TACC Maytal oversees two large teams – the web and mobile group and the cloud and interactive computing group - and manages over 30 staff. Dahan started her career as a computer science graduate and became a software developer and individual contributor to software projects. As she has grown in skill and expertise she has become a team lead, technical project lead, group manager and now director. As a passionate software engineer, she specializes in the development of Science Gateways – which uses web technologies to help advance science. She is passionate about making science more accessible to the masses and using cutting edge web technologies to lower the barrier of entry into scientific discovery. Maytal loves to share her experience on how to level up using both your tech skills and soft skills. Her goal is to make tech a more inclusive and welcoming environment to folks of all backgrounds and experiences and create a tech culture that is a place where everyone can find a place. She's also been a remote employee for over 20 years and is passionate about the future of the workplace and how to create healthy and successful teams.
