Eli Zavala's areas of expertise are film programming, distribution, exhibition & promotion. Eli founded La Filmadora (NYC), a company championing artistic & culturally authentic films. She is focused on bringing better representation (and fighting misrepresentations) of minorities on the screen. She has been part of the shorts programming teams at AFI Fest & Tribeca; she’s the Chair of Cinematográfica y Escénica de México, a LatAm NGO; is the Executive Programming Director of Latitudes Cinema, a NYC microcinema; and she just got appointed as the Commissioner of Festivals & Alternative Exhibition Spaces of The Independent Film Industry Convergence of Mexico and Latin America.
