Harry Halpin is co-founder and CEO of Nym Technologies, which is fighting for a privacy-enhanced internet via building a decentralized and incentivized mixnet that "mixes" packets to allow anonymous communication on top of the current internet. He is a visiting professor at American University of Beirut where he teaches cryptocurrency in the middle of a hyperinflation crisis. Earlier he worked at W3C/MIT under Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the Web, adding cryptography to billions of browsers and Inria de Paris. He received a Ph.D. in Informatics from University of Edinburgh and completed his postdoctoral studies under French philosopher of technology Bernard Stiegler. He has published more than a 100 peer-reviewed papers in topics as diverse as artificial intelligence, cryptography, blockchain technology, social networking, search engines, and philosophy. Dr. Halpin has also been arrested for protests in many countries and was blacklisted by British undercover police for his organizing against climate change.
