Jacobo Castellanos Rivadeneira
Jacobo is driven by the idea that technology can help protect human rights, reflect and foster diversity, and build a social economy. At WITNESS, he is part of the Technology, Threats and Opportunities team that seeks to support people to use the power of video and technology to fight for human rights. Before joining WITNESS, he was one of the founders of Cooperos, one of the first technology cooperatives in Mexico, and De América Soy, a Latin American network of collectives that promote economic diversity and heterodoxy. He has been involved in the movements for human rights protection, and technological and economic transformation as an activist, scholar and practitioner.
