Dr. Lipi Roy is an internal medicine physician board certified in addiction medicine, keynote speaker, sought-after media personality and host of the YouTube series, "Health, Humor and Harmony." Dr. Roy currently serves as the Medical Director of the Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) Sites at Housing Works in New York City as well as faculty at NYU Langone Health. During the pandemic, she oversaw COVID isolation and quarantine sites and treated patients with opioid addiction in the Bronx. As the former Chief of Addiction Medicine for Rikers Island, Dr. Roy led substance use treatment and recovery services at the nation’s 2nd-largest jail complex. She earned her medical and master’s in public health degrees from Tulane University and completed internal medicine training at Duke University Medical Center. A Forbes Contributor, Dr. Roy is a frequent health commentator on numerous media outlets including 350+ appearances on MSNBC and NBC News. She has been featured in The New York Times, Boston Globe, Wall Street Journal, Oprah.com and many media outlets. Dr. Roy’s leadership experience spans academia, clinical medicine, media, homeless health, social and criminal justice, and public speaking.
