Will Bynum
Dr. Will Bynum is currently an Associate Professor of Family Medicine in the Duke University School of Medicine. Prior to arriving at Duke in October 2017, he served for seven years on Active Duty in the US Air Force, during which time he served as a family medicine faculty physician and deployed to East Africa as the senior medical director of a special operations command. Will is currently an active clinician and the Program Director of the Duke Family Medicine Residency Program. He researches how medical learners experience shame during their training, and he has published and spoken widely on the topic. As an application of his research, he created The Shame Conversation, a website housing creative modalities through which to generate open discussion about shame in healthcare.
