Lola Lafia is 22 years old and a senior at Columbia University studying computer science and architecture. She is fascinated with organization and structure: of communities, societies, cities, collaboration and information. In 2020 she founded Schefs, a platform for students to lead themed conversations. Lola took a gap year in 2020-2021 and moved to the Bay Area to learn about intentional communities and alternative ways of living. She spent the fall in a house in Mendocino with 20 other female CS undergraduates from schools across the country, all taking time off school to form a think-tank x incubator x professional network. She then lived in 2 different co-ops in SF, all while working for Kift, a geodistributed community with vans as mobile bedrooms and a network of shared properties.
