Gerardo Toledo
A microbial ecologist turned entrepreneur, for the last 22 years has been leading high output teams during the early stages of Diversa Corp. (now BASF), Synthetic Genomics, where he worked alongside J. Craig Venter who mapped the human genome, Indigo Ag from Flagship Pioneering, and co-founder of Solarea Bio. He has been at the front of the company from a brainstorm with friends to on-going clinical studies on a bone health management product. Gerardo led Solarea Bio to a successful Series A financing in 2020 that enabled developing a concept for “Food as Medicine” and establishing a robust technology platform. He loves the outdoors and enjoys participating in endurance events including completing 3 ironman races and the Boston marathon.
