Sergiy Kovalenkov

Trained as a civil engineer, Sergiy has built more than 50 hempcrete homes in the United States and internationally. In 2015, Sergiy founded Hempire International, a company that specializes in development and production of hemp building materials. Based in Kyiv, Ukraine, Sergiy co-founded the US Hemp Building Association and serves as director of education, the only European on the board. Even during wartime, Sergiy and his Hempire team continue to build natural, sustainable hempcrete homes in Ukraine, thanks to a company plan to only source materials locally. Hempire has won numerous awards for sustainable and green buildings.
