Sage Hirschfeld
Spurred by the historic 2018 nationwide student gun violence walkouts, 20-year-old Sage Hirschfeld has since been committed to engaging in civic activism to elevate student empowerment across their community. Sage is a student at Duke University majoring in Environmental Engineering and plans to use their degree to become a climate change advocate and activist. In high school, Sage launched a non-profit organization called the "Youth Empowerment Association" aimed at uplifting other youth activists in their community. As a part of their Girl Scout Gold Award Project, Sage created an activism club in their high school to encourage young people in Texas to be politically aware and engaged. Sage is dedicated to empowering youth to advocate for themselves within their community and beyond.
