Dawn Bounds
Dawn Bounds, PhD, PMHNP-BC, is an assistant professor in the Sue and Bill Gross School of Nursing and creator and director of the Centering Youth & Families for Empowerment and Resilience (CYFER) Lab at the University of California, Irvine. Her program of research is focused on the risk and resilience of youth. Dawn has addressed gaps in both policy and practice that impact the mental health and well-being of adversity impacted youth. Dr. Bounds earned her BSN from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and her MSN and PhD in Nursing Science from Rush University’s College of Nursing. She was recently selected as a a fellow for the Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators where she will explore how the pandemic impacted marginalized youth and rebuild a village wit
