Valerie Steinberg is a producer based in LA, whose recent credits include Executive Producer of A24's The Inspection (TIFF ’22, Golden Globe nominee, three-time Indie Spirit and Gotham Award nominee), as well as EP of Riley Keough and Gina Gammell's directorial debut War Pony, which won the Caméra D'Or at the Cannes Film Festival ’22, and is having its North American premiere at SXSW 2023!

Valerie is the lead producer of Karmalink (dir. Jake Wachtel), a Cambodian Buddhist sci-fi feature that was the opening night film of Venice Film Critics’ Week ’21, sold by XYZ Films, and released theatrically in the US and abroad. This past summer, she produced a film directed by Josephine Decker (Shirley, Madeline's Madeline) called Rise, Again.

She recently served as Executive Producer for all 21 episodes of the Hulu series Bite Size Halloween, working alongside Disney's 20th Digital Studio to produce the works of emerging genre filmmakers from around the world.

With her slate of feature films in development, Valerie has been honored with selections by the Sundance x Women in Film Financing Lab, the Rotterdam Lab, Berlinale Talents, Venice Biennale College Cinema, Gotham Week, Film Independent Producing Lab, and Tribeca All Access.

Her numerous award-winning short films – distributed on HBO Max, Hulu, and Criterion Channel – include Hair Wolf (dir. Mariama Diallo; Sundance award winner, SXSW 2018), Fry Day (dir. Laura Moss; SXSW 2017, Tribeca award winner), Blocks (dir. Bridget Moloney; Sundance, SXSW 2020), Coffee Shop Names (dir. Deepak Sethi; Soho House Award winner; Tribeca X), and Everybody Dies! (dir. Nuotama Bodomo; SXSW 2016, HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness).

She produced a new short film premiering at SXSW 2023 called The Breakthrough (dir. Dan Sinclair), starring Greta Lee (Past Lives, Russian Doll) and Ben Sinclair (High Maintenance).

Valerie graduated from Yale University with a degree in Philosophy and Chinese.
