Founder, Executive Director, Managing Partner
Film Prize Foundation

Gregory Kallenberg is an award-winning filmmaker, and the founder of the Film Prize. The Film Prize is a short film competition where indie filmmakers create a short film and, if picked to be a finalist, compete for $50,000 (the world's largest cash prize for a short narrative film). The Film Prize Foundation, a registered 501c3, also focuses on educating and activating indie filmmakers to create work. One of Kallenberg's goals has been to focus efforts on giving underserved filmmakers an opportunity to create films. To date, Film Prize filmmakers are comprised of 40% female and BIPOC directors and producers. Film Prize also is creating a Film Prize feature fund. The fund will invest matching dollars in Film Prize shorts to help filmmakers create feature films. Film Prize also has an educational arm called Film Prize Junior. Film Prize Junior is a free education program teaching middle school and high school kids how to create films. The program is in Louisiana and New Mexico and is primarily in Title One schools focusing on giving underprivileged minorities the opportunity to tell their stories, attain workforce training and create success for themselves. Kallenberg is also the founder of Rational Middle Media, an award-winning documentary company. Kallenberg has also been a television writer for Bluefield Entertainment, and he also was a journalist for Austin American Statesman, Esquire Magazine and New York Times.
