Jay Hartzell
Jay Hartzell is the 30th president of The University of Texas at Austin. He holds the Ed and Carolyn Hyman Presidential Leadership Chair and the Trammel Crow Regents Professorship in Business. After joining the faculty in 2001, he went on to serve as the 12th dean of the McCombs School of Business. As president, he launched a 10-year strategic plan to become the world’s highest-impact public research university, amplifying both the university’s service to students, staff, faculty, and society, as well as its ability to address the greatest challenges facing our world, particularly in the areas of energy and the environment; technology and society; and health and well-being.
