Americans are growing more polarized by virtually every measure, except on the issues themselves. And we are evenly divided, as shown by the near 50/50 split in both houses of Congress. It may look like an unbreakable deadlock, but the more than 50,000 members of the CommonSense American program have drawn on these two factors to dramatically improve bipartisan congressional problem solving. Leveraging a proven four-step formula, we played a critical role in Congress passing legislation ending surprise medical billing in 2020, investing in physical infrastructure in 2021, and in 2022 we advanced bipartisan election reform to protect our democracy for generations. Join us to learn how to defeat the odds, bring common sense back to American politics and see what’s next on the agenda!
