From Brazil to the World: Smart Agribusiness to Save Lives
Brazil is one of the largest grain producers and exporters in the country. Now it is on the verge of becoming one of the most efficient (and smartest) places in the world. New technologies and AI have enabled projects such as "smart fields'' where sensors determine the exact needs in terms of irrigation, fertilization, soil correction, and guarantee the best harvest possible. At the same time, similar programs map out unused urban areas including rooftops and public spaces that can serve for farming. Combined, these strategies not only make agribusiness cheaper, more efficient and healthier, but also enable the preservation of local tropical forests and natural environments.
