More than 345 million people are facing devastating food shortages globally. And with a pandemic, war, supply chain issues, and increasingly intense climatic events, food is scarcer. Fortunately, the agtech world is booming with innovation to address scarcity. But are they prioritizing production and profit over climate resilience and longevity? This session will address the agtech industry’s work and responsibility to create sustainable and localized solutions that include climate resilience & risk mitigation measures to limit interruptions to production. Afterall, no longer is it enough for agtech to consider how an innovation or product impacts the world; it’s never been more important to consider how the changing world may impact the product or issue it was created to address.
