Rhyme And Punishment

Date TBA

Rhyme and Punishment- Hip-Hop and "Crime Controversy" seem to go hand in hand in America. Emmy award-winning investigative news reporter Darla Miles of WABC and EP of the award-winning documentary "Set The Record Straight", The Jam Master Jay Story, discuss the intersection of hip-hop and unsolved crimes. From Notorious B.I.G. to Nipsey Hussle to Pop Smoke, this panel explores an artist's story to examine a different aspect of the criminal justice system that disproportionately impacts Black America. Hosted by Darla Miles this panel is invested in power from all angles — the power the music industry wields over artists, the power of institutional forces that marginalize communities of color and the power dynamics deep-rooted in the rap game.
