BASSBEAR is a New York native by way of the Bronx. His identity as a selector began circa 2011, around the time of his return from serving in the military overseas. His eccentric forward style is rooted in music ranging from the sounds of the early 2000s NY Rap to UK Bass; it's mixed in with some Jersey, Baltimore, and Ballroom music, with a taste of southern Chop n screw to balance out the distinct sounds.
