MIHI NIHIL
MIHI NIHIL (say: Mee-Kee Nee-Keel) is an emerging indie band from Los Angeles, CA composed of Mihi Vox (vocal), Benjamin Montoya (guitar), Nick Steinberg (bass) and Adam Alt (drums). The group are long time friends whose compositions are described as “the living portrait of art rock," "cinematic tones full of grit,” “the most beautiful translation of melancholy to music" & "street-poet post-punk.”
Their debut album, produced by Adam Lasus (PJ Harvey, Yo La Tengo, Madder Rose), has more than half the songs in feature films, reached #1 on Amazon, #15 on iTunes and #18 on the NACC most added charts. The record received radio/publication support in over 17 countries & was included on the 2021 Grammy ballot under Best Alternative Music Album. Out 2.21.23 the new soulful single, “So Please,” stays true to their sonic landscape. The "crossroad ballad with Tarantino moodiness” embraces a gothic-country spirit & displays well the storytelling of MIHI NIHIL.
Delivering a melodic sound rooted in post-punk, MIHI NIHIL pulls from a kaleidoscope of influences including The Clash, Ennio Morricone, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Cocteau Twins & the Pixies. Theirs is a sound redolent with nostalgia.
