Colin Gilmore
Like so many other artists, for Colin Gilmore the past two years have been a time of reflecting and resetting. Colin has been on the Austin scene for two decades, recording, writing and touring with his pop-infused Americana sound. Having grown up in Lubbock TX, Colin's first influences were the likes of Buddy Holly, Joe Ely and his own father Jimmie Dale Gilmore. Over time he began to draw on influences overseas, with bands The Clash, The Pogues and The Kinks shaping his approach to writing. Over the years, he has recorded three studio albums and several EPs, toured all over the world and performed in the feature film Barracuda. His years on and off the road have provided Colin with writing material and a spirit of adventure. He was recently invited to participate in a songwriting retreat that included hit songwriters from England, Texas, Africa and many other spots on the globe. Most recently, Colin joined the band West Texas Exiles, giving him a renewed sense of purpose and inspiration. WTE are set to release their debut EP in January.
