As a Brooklyn born & raised activist and a first generation American of Jamaican ancestry Leslie Mac works every day to lift up the voices & experiences of those most affected by racial injustice and white supremacy.

After organizing the NMOS14 vigil in Philadelphia, she created the Ferguson Response tumblr to connect nationwide efforts supporting the important racial justice movement started in Ferguson, MO. Leslie Mac is a Brooklyn born & raised Organizer and, Founder of the Ferguson Response Network. She was the Founding Chair of the Black Lives of Unitarian Universalism Organizing Collective Board.

In 2016 Leslie co-founded Safety Pin Box, which was featured in NY Magazine, The Daily Show, Vice News & more. She has been named to Essence Magazine’s list of 100 Woke Women and was BlogHer’s 2017 Voice of the Year for Impact.

Leslie is the Digital Organizer for Black Womxn For, a project focused on creating intentional spaces for Progressive Black women and gender-nonconforming community leaders and activists to flex their collective political power. She serves as the Vice-Moderator of the Unitarian Universalist Association Board of Trustees and provides direct support to Black Organizers around the country.
