Kareem Akhtar
Kareem Akhtar is a venture capital and growth equity investor with over 15 years of experience in consumer and enterprise technology investing, M&A, and business development. He is currently a Venture Investor for the Amazon Alexa Fund, Amazon’s VC fund investing in Web3, AI, media, consumer internet, and voice. At the Alexa Fund, he has driven many early-stage and growth-stage investments, including Zwift, Tonal, Yousician, Cameo, Locker Room, and Endel. Kareem has spearheaded the Alexa Fund's investment focus in Web3, digital media, entertainment, social audio, and connected fitness, and continues to advance the funds interests into the creator economy, blockchain, and enterprise collaboration. Kareem’s experiences span venture capital at Amazon Alexa Fund (early-stage venture capital to growth equity), M&A, Corporate Development and Strategy at Juniper Networks and Ebay. He was also a senior private equity professional at HIG Capital Management and Corinthian Capital Management, focusing on mid-market acquisitions in software, digital media, and tech-enabled services, as well as manufacturing and distribution. Kareem also founded and exited two companies in the mobile and telecom services spaces. Kareem is an avid hiker, and enjoys the live music scene. Kareem has an MBA from Harvard Business School, and holds both MS and BS degrees from MIT in electrical engineering and computer science.
