Monika Samtani

Monika Samtani is a media and entertainment professional based in Washington, DC. She is a producer for film/television/entertainment productions creating meaningful, authentic stories and culturally relevant content. Monika is the founder of Ms. Media, an international entertainment publicity and production company, and co-founder of The Fem Word – an online publication broadcasting stories of bold women everywhere.

Well known in the Indian American community as a trailblazer for her achievements in the media industry for nearly three decades, in the early 1990s she was the first professional South Asian broadcast journalist at the CBS station in Washington, D.C., ranked the top 7 news market in the United States.

Monika is a TEDx and keynote speaker at major events recognizing female producers, entrepreneurs, and causes; she is an award-winning producer/director of a documentary short; and is credited with national and international publicity for films such as SOLD, Girl Rising, and East of the Mountains (2021) starring iconic Hollywood actors Tom Skerritt and Mira Sorvino.
