Meredith Scardino
Meredith Scardino is the creator and showrunner of the Emmy-nominated Peacock original comedy series, "Girls5eva,” starring Sara Bareilles, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Busy Philipps, and Paula Pell. It is executive produced by Scardino along with Tina Fey, Robert Carlock, Jeff Richmond, David Miner, and Eric Gurian. Previously, she wrote on all four seasons of the critically-acclaimed Fey/Carlock series, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” as well as its interactive finale, “Kimmy vs. the Reverend." Scardino originally got her start in TV writing for late night. She spent six years writing on “The Colbert Report,” where she won four Emmys, three Writers Guild Awards, and a Peabody. She has also written for “Saturday Night Live,” “At Home with Amy Sedaris,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” “The 72nd Golden Globe Awards,” and “The Late Show with David Letterman." She began her career in entertainment working as a cartoonist and animator, making shorts for Comedy Central. She currently lives in New York City with her partner, her young son (who inspired the “Girls5eva” hit song “New York Lonely Boy”), and loyal hound.
