Carolina Sevilla
Carolina is working with her partners on their nonprofit organization: 5 Minute Foundation, which has multiple sustainability based projects, including the education of local communities in Costa Rica, and the upcycling of solid waste material into high-end products to promote a circular economy in Latin America. In 2015, Carolina opened the first recycling center for ocean plastics with BIONIC in Santa Teresa, Cobano.
Carolina Sevilla is a former diplomat of the United Nations Security Council, and served as a Consul of Costa Rica in New York City. She also spent time as the director of operations for BIONIC, an engineering textile company that makes thread out of marine plastic.
