Dr Loretta Chen is an award-winning creative director, The Straits Times Singapore bestselling author, experienced media presenter, higher education veteran and fur mom.
Hailed as “a force of nature”, one of Asia’s “Most Inspiring Women”, “Singapore’s Anna Wintour” and “Power Woman”, Loretta is an arts and cultural icon with her provocative theatrical productions. She even produced an award winning documentary, Secrets to Happiness, while working in Bhutan as a Consultant to its sovereign wealth fund , Druk Holdings and Investments .
For her work in advocating civil liberties for underserved communities- women, youths, artists and LGBTQIA, she was voted by the community to be a Nominated Member of Parliament in 2007.
Loretta is a frequent face at leadership forums, speaking circuit and has hosted the World Cities Summit and other global, inter-ministerial events.
Her integrated media agency, The Activation Group, co-founded with her brother counts Samsung, Louis Vuitton, Nike, Absolut Vodka and World Wide Fund as some of her key clients before she exited to pursue her dream in Hawaii.
Loretta returned to her first love, higher education and is now a leadership, brand strategy and theater professor at University of Hawaii and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University.
