Wendi Aarons
Wendi Aarons is a freelance humor writer whose work has appeared in The New Yorker Daily Shouts, McSweeneys Internet Tendency, US Weekly Fashion Police, Scary Mommy, BuzzFeed, Huffington Post, Wall Street Journal, and various other outlets including NPR Austin affiliate KUT. Her writing is included in the anthologies Listen to Your Mother: What She Said Then, What We’re Saying Now (Putnam, 2015) and Keep Scrolling Til You Feel Something: Twenty-One Years of Humor from McSweeney’s Internet Tendency (McSweeneys, 2019). Her book "Attention Passengers: An Adult Activity Book" will be released by McSweeneys Publishing in early 2022, and her narrative humor book I'm Wearing Tunics now was recently acquired by Andrews McMeel Publishing. Her humor pieces have been performed by award-winning actresses including Uzo Aduba of "Orange Is the New Black”, Sharon Horgan, and Alison Brie of "Glow."
Wendi’s eponymous blog was named “Funniest Parenting Blog” by Parents Magazine in 2013. She was also the Winner of the 2017 Iris Award for “Most Entertaining Writer” at the Mom 2.0 Influencer conference and was named a “Voice of the Year” by BlogHer twice. In 2014, Wendi co-created the viral Twitter parody account @PaulRyanGosling. Multiple tweets from that account were featured on national media including The Rachael Maddow Show and the Today show. Her personal Twitter account has 18,000 followers, and her tweets have appeared in numerous “funniest tweets” lists, from Huffington Post, Scary Mommy, BuzzFeed, Mashable and more.
