Matt Ondler
A seasoned space leader in both government and industry, Matt Ondler sits at the head of Axiom Space’s engineering organization. He directs the company’s development of the world’s first commercial destination in space to provide a next-generation microgravity platform and provide for a seamless transition from the NASA's International Space Station in low-Earth orbit.
Matt’s 35 years of engineering and management experience include, most recently before Axiom, founding and growing robotics and intelligent automation company Houston Mechatronics, Inc. as President/CEO. HMI grew from a three-person start-up to seventy-five engineering staff and a valuation of $60M under his leadership. He previously was a senior executive at Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies. Matt also served a variety of roles during a twenty-eight year career at NASA, culminating as NASA JSC’s Assistant Director of Engineering responsible for all advanced exploration systems development.
NASA conferred upon him its Outstanding Leadership and Exceptional Achievement medals.
He is an aerospace engineering graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder and holds an MBA from the University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business
