Mary Annaïse Heglar is a climate justice essayist, whose work has appeared in outlets like Wired, HuffPost, Rolling Stone, Vox, The Boston Globe, and many more outlets. Mary’s essays have also been included in several essay collections, such as Letters to the Earth, All We Can Save, and The Black Agenda. In 2020, Annaïse Heglar was named the first writer in residence at Columbia University’s Earth Institute, and received a SEAL Award for Environmental Journalism. In addition to her writing, Mary is the co-host and co-creator of both the Hot Take newsletter and podcast, which takes a holistic, humorous, and humane look at the discourse around the climate crisis, especially in the media.
