Doggett has devoted more than 40 years to improving early education programs across the country. Today, Doggett serves on numerous national and state boards and volunteers on projects focused on scaling and strengthening evidence-based early learning programs and programs that support young children and their parents in Austin, Texas, and across the nation. During the Obama Administration, Doggett oversaw the Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge and Preschool Development Grants and served as the Department of Education’s liaison on early learning issues with the White House and other federal agencies. Prior to that, Doggett worked to improve access and quality of pre-k and home visiting programs through the Pew Charitable Trusts. Doggett has a Ph.D. from The University of Texas in Austin where she now resides permanently.
