Sven Travis

Sven Travis is an Associate Professor of Media and Design at Parsons School of Design in New York. He has taught and administered at Parsons for more than thirty years. He was founding (now former) Dean of the School of Art, Media, and Technology at Parsons. He has served as Parsons Director of Advanced Computing, as Chair of Parsons Digital Design Department, as Director of Parsons Center for New Design, and as New School Associate Provost for Technology R&D. Travis currently teaches/researches within Parsons Design+Technology programs, which he founded. Travis collaborates with a variety of international partners, particularly in China. He has worked extensively with the Tsinghua University—Beijing, and is co-founder of the Creativity and AI Lab at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute—Chongqing. He also works with Tongji University—Shanghai, Central Academy of Fine Arts—Beijing, and China Academy or Art—Hangzhou.
