Diana Velarde
Diana is co-founder of “Trazando lo Invisible”, an organization to create awareness and connect people with rare diseases and invisible disabilities. She’s also ambassador for Mexico for the Usher Syndrome Coalition and core member of “Mexicanas con Discapacidad”, where she is leader to develop the community of mexican women with disabilities.
Born and raised in Mexico, Diana has a diagnosis of Usher Syndrome, a inherited condition that affects sight and hearing. She holds a BSc in Electronic Systems Engineering from Tec de Monterrey and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Newcastle University.
Diana is a passionate reader and traveler and has lived in Canada, Mexico and UK. She is one of the 27 writers of the book “Walk in my Shoes: An Anthology on Usher Syndrome”.
Today Diana is Director of Deals at PwC, and is the Director of the Staff Council of Diversity and Inclusion in the same firm.
