Sha Stepter

Founder
Slow and Steady Media

Sha Stepter is a formerly incarcerated filmmaker, producer, and entrepreneur from San Francisco. While a junior in high school, Sha committed assault with a firearm and was sentenced to life in prison. After serving more than 18 years, he was released from prison when his life sentence was commuted by then Gov. Jerry Brown.
Since his release, Sha founded Slow And Steady Media, a media production company that highlights the experiences of incarcerated, formerly incarcerated, and system-impacted people. When he’s not running his company he's either working with the software language Python or speaking across the country about his experience discovering technology and entrepreneurship while serving a life sentence in the California prison system.
