Jan Chong

Jan Chong is VP of Engineering at Tally, a financial automation company that’s on a mission to make people less stressed and better off financially. She oversees the company’s client engineering, infrastructure, security and technical operations teams. Previously a long-time executive at Twitter, she played a critical role in launching and scaling the popular social networking platform’s core mobile and web products. She also led the charge in overhauling the entire engineering and recruiting process, implemented mentorship programs and equipped managers with essential leadership skills through her peer-coaching forums. Jan also ran client and server development at OnLive, a cloud gaming platform. In 2020, Jan was named one of the Top 25 Women Leaders in Financial Technology by The Financial Technology Report. She received multiple degrees from Stanford University, including her Ph.D. in management science and engineering and M.S. and B.S. degrees in computer science.
