Lissa Soep
Lissa Soep is Senior Editor for Audio at Vox Media and Special Projects Producer at YR Media. As a senior member of Vox Media’s Podcasting Network, Lissa works with reporters, hosts and producers to craft narratives across a range of shows. She develops learning tools and workshops for creators new to audio storytelling and joined the board of a company-wide initiative to produce a style-guide for inclusive newsrooms. At YR Media, where Lissa was an EP until 2020, she has produced hundreds of audio features, helped establish standards and practices, and co-founded the country’s first youth coding program embedded in a national newsroom. She’s co-led teams honored with Peabody, Murrow, Kennedy, IRE, Gracie and other awards. Her newest book, “Code for What?” (with Clifford Lee) is forthcoming with MIT Press. She has a PhD from Stanford. Her work as a writer, producer, and editor has been featured on outlets including NPR, NYT, National Geographic and Teen Vogue.
