Juan Benet is Founder and CEO of Protocol Labs, a research, development, and deployment lab driving breakthroughs in computing to push humanity forward. He lead the creation of Filecoin, a decentralized network that allows users to store, request, and transfer data via a verifiable marketplace. He is also the inventor of the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), a protocol to make the web faster, safer, and more open. The IPFS Project has grown into a large open-source movement to re-decentralize the web, safeguard our data, and improve our applications. Benet studied Computer Science at Stanford University and is passionate about knowledge, science, and technology. In 2018, Benet was named one of Fortune magazine's "40 under 40," recognized for his work creating IPFS.
