Alexandra Reeve Givens is the CEO of the Center for Democracy & Technology, a 25 year old advocacy organization focused on protecting individuals’ rights and democratic values in the digital age. CDT focuses on policies, practices and technical approach to protect consumers’ online privacy, civil liberties and free expression around the world.
Givens previously served in the United States Senate as a policy advisor focused on technology and First Amendment issues, and taught at Georgetown Law and Columbia Law. She has been repeatedly recognized as a “Tech Titan” for her advocacy on technology issues, and serves as mayoral appointee on Washington D.C.’s Innovation and Technology Inclusion Council.
