Shannon K. Nix

Shannon has long been an advocate, beginning at age 15 working with sexual abuse survivors, as a sexual assault victim advocate in undergraduate and graduate school, and as a therapist and advocate and prevention educator and trainer. She utilizes a survivor-centered, research- and trauma-informed, inclusive lens in her work, and approaches her work with humility, compassion and grace. She is not one to take herself too seriously and has been known to make fun of herself, and she hopes that this approach helps others recognize the importance of acceptance and not judging oneself too harshly.
