Tanya Kraljic heads the Applied Research Conversation Design team at Google, where her mission is to make conversational interfaces a lot easier to talk to. In her 10+ years in the industry as a designer and researcher, she’s helped clients from start-ups to Fortune 100 companies navigate natural language technology, conversation design, and intelligent systems. At Google, Tanya leads design for the Natural Language Understanding program, and tackles fundamental questions around building more human-centered AI that reflects and adjusts to how people naturally talk.
Tanya holds a PhD in Cognitive Psychology, has written multiple articles on interactive spoken dialogue, and currently teaches for the MFA program at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. She’s previously taught at the Center for Research in Language at UCSD and at the Institute for Research in Cognitive Science at UPenn.
