Leah Salgado

Leah Salgado (Pascua Yaqui) is an inclusion and narrative and culture change strategist and serves as Chief Impact Officer of IllumiNative. In her role, Leah oversees the Pop Culture + Media, Movement Building and Organizing, and Narrative + Impact programs for the organization, focusing on building power for Native peoples through representation and authentic narratives. Before IllumiNative, Leah worked as a senior communications strategist at a private firm where she developed messaging and communications strategies for various clients in the nonprofit and philanthropic space. Leah has previously led strategic communications work for various Native-led organizations. Leah has appeared in Buzzfeed, LA Times, Adweek, and BBC World News speaking on Native representation.
