Anne Van De Wijdeven

Anne van de Wijdeven grew up in rural the Netherlands and, after pursuing degrees in English linguistics and literature, went into international teaching. Teaching in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Dubai, and Norway, she found herself intrigued by the way we communicate with one another. In an ever more politicized (and polarized) society, communication is key. This is especially true for younger people, who often have nothing but their voice to change the direction in which their future is headed – certainly not a vote, or funds.
After five years of teaching, she switched career tracks and joined digital agency Dept as a copywriter. Working with different clients, brands, and experts has proven to be as rewarding as it is challenging.
In her free time, Anne engages with words and stories any which way she can, whether it's writing science-fiction, reading anything she can get her hands on, or playing table-top roleplaying games.
