Maya Perez
Maya Perez is a writer and producer. Her screenplays have been recognized by fellowships from SFFILM/Westridge, Sundance Institute, and NY Stage & Film, and her feature screenplay TALIESIN is being produced by Tangerine Entertainment’s Amy Hobby and Anne Hubbell.
Maya was also an executive producer on the award-winning television series On Story, currently in its eleventh season on PBS. Nominated for a 2019 Lone Star EMMY Award®, On Story won a Lone Star EMMY Award® for Best Interview/Discussion Program Series in 2018 and for Best Arts/Entertainment Program in 2014.
Maya lives in Austin, Texas, and teaches at the Michener Center for Writers and The University of Texas at Austin in the Radio-TV-Film Department.
