Maya Georgieva

Maya Georgieva is an XR futurist, Metaverse strategist, author, and speaker with more than 15 years of experience in higher education, industry consulting, global learning, and human rights policy. Her most recent work focuses on innovation, the metaverse, immersive storytelling, VR/AR experiences, design thinking, and digital strategy. Maya actively writes and speaks on the topics of digital transformation, the metaverse, immersive storytelling, and the future of learning, creativity, and work and consults organizations and startups in this space. She is an XR producer and serves as a judge and coach to several competitions and accelerator programs.
Maya is the Senior Director of the Innovation Center at The New School. Maya teaches the signature Immersive Storytelling course at Parsons School of Design. Her work focuses on the Metaverse and frontier technologies like AI and Quantum. In Fall 2021, Maya designed and facilitated the first Quantum Design Jam with students from The Parsons School of Design at The New School in partnership with IBM.
