Cliff has over 25 years’ experience operating at the cutting edge of Digital Media and advises companies globally on their legal and commercial strategies.

After qualifying as a lawyer at global law firm CMS, he became in-house counsel at Warner Music, was seconded to the BPI and then Legal Director and Company Secretary for Capital Radio plc (now Global Radio).

In 2006, Cliff was asked to Lewis Silkin LLP as a Partner and is Joint Head and founder of its Media & Entertainment Group. He specialises in Digital Media, Brand Entertainment, Technology, and Innovation as a part its Creators, Makers & Innovators Division. Cliff sits on Lewis Silkin’s Board responsible for innovation and new business models and leads its Solutions offering to internal and external clients.

Since joining Lewis Silkin, Cliff has advised many of the leading players in digital, social and brand entertainment is recognised as a thought leader on new business models for media particularly in the field of artificial intelligence, distributed ledger technologies and immersive entertainment and now where they converge into the metaverse. He also acts for those acquiring, exploiting, and monetising music and media-based rights.

Cliff is also the founder and Managing Director at Eleven, offering strategic and commercial advisory services - as part of its ecosystem of trusted partners - to companies in the realm of digital media. During this time, he’s been a strategic advisor many corporations on their response to eSports, of the most innovative start-ups in the industry such as Jukedeck, AI Music, Rotor Music Videos, Beatchain and Rotor amongst many, many others.

He is named in both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 as a leader and expert in his field and the Media & Entertainment group at Lewis Silkin is ranked in as 'Tier 1' by Legal 500.

He is Chair of the Trustee Board of The Ivors Academy Trust, the charity for songwriters and creators and a Trustee of Help Musicians, the leading UK Music Industry charity.
