Fab City: Global Connections for Local Production
The COVID crisis has shown us that sustainability and livability depend on collective action and co-designed solutions. Fab City Global Initiative is a network of cities, regions and countries that have pledged to work towards producing everything they consume by 2054 by maximizing the creative output of diverse communities and democratizing access to digital tools that allow them to design, produce and fabricate products locally through a network of global collaborators, a process known as Distributed Design. From the local to the global, Fab City partners work across multiple layers of practice and deployment, scaling the FabLab approach to a city and systems level.
