Consumers increasingly rely on content developed and propagated by independent creators over traditional media. While the notion of democratized publishing has merits, it has also enabled disinformation and fraud to thrive. Who is accountable for the content published by Creators? The platforms? The publishers? The Creators themselves? The advertisers and consumers who fund publication?

This discussion will explore how the Creator Economy enables diverse voices to thrive, while pushing profit to social platforms and challenging big media. It will also explore the economics of today’s media, and business models that infringe upon curation, editing, sourcing and fact-checking. Finally, we will challenge the role of the advertiser who is funding the content that we consume. This conversation, with a leading journalist, an independent creator and a top marketer will ask the audience to reimagine the future of media.
