Artists Protecting Black Owned Venues & Spaces Meet Up
Calling all artists, music lovers, entrepreneurs & big thinkers!
What is the future of Black and POC-friendly music venues across major cities in post-pandemic America? Party Blackly believes that artists have the power to mobilize community support to transform local legislation in protection of Black spaces.
With the rise of gentrification across most major American cities, Black venue owners hosting multicultural events have been the target of direct and subversive tactics to push them out of historically Black neighborhoods. From “randomly selected” police raids to inflated lease renewal costs, the future of Black-owned venues as anchors of Black music culture remains precarious.
